CSL: Changchun draws with Wuhan, Beijing smashes Dalian

SUZHOU - Changchun Yatai played a scoreless drew with Wuhan, while Beijing trounced Dalian Pro 2-0 in the Chinese Super League (CSL) on Tuesday.

After Changchun midfielder Hui Jiakang missed his shot in the 3rd minute and Ivorian forward Jean Evrard Kouassi, 27, failed to net for Wuhan five minutes later, Changchun had its best chance to take the lead in the 12th minute when midfielder Tan Long made his header but was declared offside.

Although both teams played more aggressively in the second half, neither was able to break the deadlock until the last whistle.

In the other game of the day, Beijing beat Dalian Pro 2-0 for its first victory of the season, after losing to both Shanghai Port and Shanghai Shenhua.

Beijing suffered a blow in the first half when Spanish midfielder Jonathan Viera walked off the floor due to an injury.

The opener of the game was scored in the 53rd minute by Zhang Xizhe tapped in a rebound after a perfect pass from midfielder Zhang Yuning.

Three minutes later, Zhang, 30, doubled it with a header.

On Wednesday, Tianjin JM will take on Hebei and Shanghai Shenhua faces Shanghai Port.
