Editor's note: Post-2000s Chinese athletes have become a hot topic at the Tokyo Olympics. They all fought hard to win gold medals to realize their dreams from very young age. From the youngest diving winner Quan Hongchan to the first gold medalist Yang Qian, their career has just started, making people look forward to the next Games in Paris in three years.

Yang Qian, born in 2000, won the first gold medal of the Tokyo Olympics on July 24 in the women's 10-meter air rifle.
Jiang Ranxin, born in 2000, got victory in the 10-meter air pistol mixed team competition with Pang Wei on July 27
Yang won her second gold of the Games, along with Yang Haoran in the 10m air rifle mixed team event on July 27.
Yang has become one of the most famous celebrities in China not only because she has won the first gold of the Tokyo Olympics, but also for her appearance. The duck and carrot-shaped hairpins she wore during the competitions have become a hot commodity on ecommerce platforms.
"I am very happy. It is special to win an event like this," Yang Qian said, adding that "I thank my country for helping me and giving me all the support."

In the women's 10-meter platform final on Thursday, Quan Hongchan, born in 2007, the youngest member of the delegation in Tokyo, wowed the world by scoring perfect 10s in three rounds to win the diving squad's sixth gold medal of the Games.

The baby-faced Quan, the latest prodigy of China's diving training system, barely made a ripple in the water during her final's performance and tallied 466.2 points to dominate the field.
Her composure impressed reporters during her interview after the event. "I was a little nervous, but not very, just a little bit," she said. "I don't feel different competing at the Olympics compared to the national championships. I just did my routines and tried to execute my dives the way my coach told me to."
Sun Yingsha, born in 2000, competed for China's women table tennis squad and outclassed arch-rival Japan 3-0 to win the Olympic title for the fourth straight time at Tokyo 2020 on Thursday.
The victory at the Tokyo Metropolitan Gymnasium has extended China's record against Japan to 16 straight wins, and made the all-time leading outfit the only one with a title-winning feat since the team event was introduced to the Olympic program in 2008.

Zhang Jiaqi, born in 2004, and Chen Yuxi, born in 2005, summoned the courage of youth to win a diving gold on July 27.
Chen and Zhang executed five near flawless dives to capture the women's synchronized 10-meter platform competition.
Zhang sees their youth as an advantage. "We are short and light, and this means that our entry (to the water) is better than the others. Our weakness is we are inexperienced," she said, adding that they had learned from the experiences of previous generations of Chinese divers.
Chen said she felt pressure because of the pair's age and lack of experience, but, she added, "We have nothing to lose, and we are brave enough to face any challenges".
Guan Chenchen, born in 2004, clinched gold medal in women's balance beam at the Tokyo Olympics on Tuesday.
16-year-old Guan topped the competition in 14.633 points.

"I actually never expected that I would get a medal. My coach said, 'this is your first time in the Olympics and no one knows you so just go in and do your best,'" Guan said after the final.
Li Wenwen, born in 2000, showed her supremacy in the women's weightlifting +87kg division, setting three new Olympic records en route to a gold medal at the Tokyo Olympic Games on Aug 2.

Li, current world record holder in the snatch, clean and jerk and total, called 130kg in her first snatch attempt. It already bettered other contestants, with the nearest one, Sarah Elizabeth Robles from the United States, hoisting 128kg. Li lifted a new Olympic record of 140kg in her third attempt, setting a 12-kg cushion over Robles.
Li continued her dominance going into the clean and jerk section, hoisting an Olympic record of 180kg for a total of 320 kg, also a new Olympic record.

Zhang Changhong, born in 2000, broke the world record to win the last shooting gold of the Tokyo Olympics and the fourth for China in men's 50m rifle 3 positions on Aug 2.
With 466 points, the 21-year-old Olympic debutant set new world and Olympic record to beat ROC's shooter Sergey Kamenskiy, who bagged the silver with 464.2 points.
Jiang Ranxin, born in 2000, got victory in the 10-meter air pistol mixed team competition with Pang Wei on July 27.
Pang Wei and Jiang shook hands and hugged as they celebrated in front of a small, cheering crowd at the range. During the presentation ceremony, they hung their medals on each other.

"It was his idea," Jiang said. "We think we needed team spirit in a mixed team event, so we wanted to show that with our actions."
Wang Zongyuan, born in 2001, and Xie Siyi won an Olympic gold medal in the men's synchronized 3m springboard with 467.82 points here on July 28, 23.46 points ahead of the second-placed United States.
"I've been waiting for this moment for nine years. I was so happy with our brilliant timing. I have a lot of emotions in my head right now," said Wang.

This is 19-year-old Wang's first Olympic Games. "To participate in an Olympic Games for the first time was not so hard for me. It felt a little bit different, but I knew I had to do what I do well, and I did."

He won the silver medal in the single 3m springboard on Aug 3.
Li Bingjie, born in 2002, won the gold medal in the women's 4x200m freestyle relay final with her teammates on July 29, breaking the world record.
This is the first relay Olympic champion of the Chinese swimming team and the 14th gold medal of the Chinese delegation at the Olympic Games.
