HONG KONG - The Hong Kong government detected 47 preliminary positive COVID-19 cases during overnight targeted testing operations in Fanling and Kowloon Bay.
In separate statements issued on Wednesday morning, the government said 45 cases were found at Block 7 and Block 8, Richland Gardens, Kowloon Bay while two were detected at Block 6, Dawning Views in Fanling.
The government said 1,075 residents were tested at Richland Gardens while 458 underwent testing in Dawning Views
Three people also had indeterminate test results in Richland Gardens, the government added.

The two buildings were cordoned off on Tuesday after their sewage tested positive for COVID-19. The government said 1,075 residents were tested at Richland Gardens while 458 underwent testing in Dawning Views.
It added that 63 Kowloon Bay households residents did not answer the door when government health workers knocked while 27 in Fanling also did not reply. The operation in Fanling wrapped up at 11 am Wednesday.
Hong Kong reported 7,596 new COVID-19 cases on Tuesday, which is slightly fewer than the 7,685 infections on Monday, bringing the city’s tally during the current fifth wave of infections to 1.13 million.
