KUALA LUMPUR - Top men's singles shuttler Viktor Axelsen of Denmark will face Japan's Kento Momota in the final of badminton's 2022 Malaysia Open, following their respective victories in the semifinals on Saturday.
Victor Axelsen outplayed his Indonesian opponent Jonatan Christie 21-15, 20-22, 21-11, while Kento Momota beat Thailand's Kunlavut Vitidsarn 21-11, 21-12 at the Axiata Arena in Kuala Lumpur

Women's singles shuttler Chen Yufei of China overcame Tai Tzu-ying of Chinese Taipei 19-21, 21-13, 21-15 and will face Ratchanok Intanon of Thailand in the final.

Women's doubles duo Zhang Shuxian and Zheng Yu of China also reached the final where they will face Apriyani Rahayu and Siti Fadia Silva Ramadhanti of Indonesia.
There was also a victory in the semifinal for China's mixed doubles pair Zheng Siwei and Huang Yaqiong, and they will face Thailand's Dechapol Puavaranukroh and Sapsiree Taerattanachai in the final.

The men's doubles pair of Fajar Alfian and Muhammad Rian Ardianto of Indonesia will take on Japan's Takuro Hoki and Yugo Kobayashi after both pairs defeated their Malaysian hosts.
