HONG KONG – The Hong Kong Special Administrative Region government will roll out a new round of a scheme from Saturday to visit seniors in Wong Tai Sin, Kwun Tong and Kwai Tsing districts to encourage them to receive COVID-19 vaccination.

The city’s health chief has written to some of the residents explaining the scheme's arrangements and urging them to get vaccinated as soon as possible.

Community organizations of the three districts, the Association of Property Services Agents, together with the Health Bureau and relevant government bureaus and departments, will visit elderly public housing tenants to persuade those aged 70 or above to get vaccinated

“Receiving COVID-19 vaccination can effectively reduce the risk of serious illness and death from infection,” said a government spokesman, adding that the SAR government has spared no effort to boost the vaccination rate of the elderly.
