HANGZHOU - The Zhejiang Lions crushed the Shanxi Loongs 123-90 while defending champions the Liaoning Flying Leopards rallied past the Fujian Sturgeons 81-70 in the sixth round of the 2022-2023 Chinese Basketball Association (CBA) on Saturday.
With a strong 15-2 run in the second quarter, last season's runners-up Zhejiang had a 28-point advantage on 68-40 at the break to put the game beyond reach.

Kyle Wiltjer had a game-high 25 points for Zhejiang, followed by 18 points from Zhu Junlong. Zhao Jiaren scored 17 points, and star guard Sun Minghui added 13, plus 15 assists. On Shanxi's side, Sonny Weems and Chang Lin pocketed 15 points apiece. Kay Felder contributed 12 points.

Liaoning made a great effort in the last quarter to survive the defensive battle. Fujian took the lead on 46-40 in the first half before the Flying Leopards surged an 11-0 run to cut the deficit to one point on 57-58 to enter the final 12 minutes. Liaoning showed its consistency in the last quarter with an 8-0 run to turn around the game on 75-64 and never looked back.
Kyle Fogg stormed a game-high 34 points and dished eight assists. Han Dejun finished with a double-double of 18 points and 10 rebounds for Liaoning. Thon Maker led Fujian with 18 points and grabbed eight rebounds, while Zeng Lingxuan and Tian Guisen had 11 points respectively.

In other games, the Zhejiang Golden Bulls defeated the Beijing Royal Fighters 98-80, the Beijing Ducks swallowed an overtime loss over the Guangzhou Loong Lions 71-66, and the Shenzhen Aviators beat the Ningbo Rockets 122-81.
