HONG KONG – A ceremony for the commissioning of the third runway of the Hong Kong International Airport was held on Friday. 

Chief Secretary for Administration Chan Kwok-ki, Chairman of the Board of Airport Authority Hong Kong Jack So Chak-kwong, and other guests witnessed the historic moment of Hong Kong's aviation industry.

Once the third runway comes into operation, the three-runway system is expected to strengthen Hong Kong’s status as an international aviation hub and cater better for the city’s long-term air traffic demand.
