CSL: Shandong edges Zhejiang, Qingdao beats Beijing

JINAN - Shandong Taishan edged ten-men Zhejiang FC 2-1, while Qingdao Hainiu beat Beijing Guoan 3-1 to gain their first win in the 2023 Chinese Super League (CSL) on Tuesday.

The deadlock between Shandong and Zhejiang was broken in the 19th minute, as Zhong Yuexin was sent off for stepping on Son Jun-ho's ankle. Shandong then took control of the game and Moises opened the scoring in the 26th minute after a series of smooth passes.

In the 64th minute, Sun Guowen doubled the lead for Shandong after finishing Marouane Fellaini's assist.

In the 78th minute, Nyasha Mushekwi pulled one back for Zhejiang.

Elsewhere, Qingdao hosted Beijing Guoan and emerged victorious thanks to goals from Elvis Saric, Aleksandar Andrejevic and Evans Kangwa.

In the day's other game, defending champions Wuhan Three Towns beat Meizhou Hakka 2-1.
