Jiang's header helps Shanghai edge Nantong in CSL

SHANGHAI - Shanghai Shenhua defender Jiang Shenglong scored a pivotal header, securing a 1-0 victory for his team over Nantong Zhiyun in the 2023 Chinese Super League (CSL) on Wednesday.

After receiving a corner kick from Joao Teixeira, Jiang's perfectly timed header found the back of the net in the 31st minute.

In other matches, Nyasha Mushekwi netted twice, cementing Zhejiang FC's 3-0 triumph over Meizhou Hakka. Cheng Jin's free kick in the 35th minute found its way to Mushekwi, who delivered a stunning volley into the goal.

The match remained goalless until the 69th minute, when midfielder Gu Bin supplied Jean Evrard Kouassi with an easy tap-in opportunity, expanding Zhejiang's lead.

Just 12 minutes afterward, Li Tixiang's long pass found Mushekwi, who skillfully maneuvered through Meizhou's defense to score his second goal with a powerful volley.

Also, on Wednesday, Wuhan Three Towns and Dalian Pro battled to a goalless draw, Tianjin Jinmen Tiger outdid Qingdao Hainiu 3-2, and Henan Songshan Longmen edged out Cangzhou Mighty Lions 1-0.
