YEOSU, South Korea - Chinese shuttlers made a successful debut on the first day of South Korea Open 2023 here on Tuesday.
In the men's doubles, Liang Weikeng and Wang Chang snatched an overwhelming 21-15, 21-18 victory in the round of 32 against Ayato Endo and Yuta Takei of Japan in a quick 27-minute match.
Liu Yuchen/Ou Xuanyi got past M. R. Arjun/Dhruv Kapila as the Indian shuttlers retired in the first set, while He Jiting/Zhou Haodong easily advanced to the round of 16 after demolishing Japan's pair Akira Koga/Taichi Saito 21-16, 21-17.
In the women's doubles, Li Wenmei/Liu Xuanxuan scored a hard fought 21-18, 23-21 win against Rena Miyaura/Ayako Sakuramoto of Japan.

The South Korea Open is scheduled to run from July 18 to 23 at the Jinnam Stadium.
