NEW DELHI - India and Japan have signed a memorandum of cooperation on semiconductor development, Federal Minister for Electronics and Information Technology Ashwini Vaishnaw said Thursday.
He said there had been multiple rounds of discussions between the Indian side and the Japanese industry, government, and academia.
"Today we have reached a decision where Yasutoshi Nishimura, minister of economy, trade and industry of Japan, and our ministry of electronics and information technology signed on behalf of the two governments a memorandum of cooperation," Vaishnaw said.

"We will be taking it forward through our industry-to-industry collaboration and also through government-to-government collaboration," he added.
