HK fencer Cheung wins gold at Universiade

HONG KONG – Star Hong Kong fencer Cheung Ka-long on Friday claimed the men's foil individual gold, winning the special administrative region’s third gold medal at the 31st FISU Summer World University Games in Chengdu.

The Olympic gold medalist Cheung defeated Pierre Loisel of France 15-12 to win the gold. 

Cheung's teammate Choi Chun Yin Ryan and Jan Maksymilian Jurkiewicz of Poland shared the bronze medals.

Hong Kong athletes have won three gold, one silver, and five bronze medals at the Universiade so far.
