HONG KONG – The Airport Authority-Hong Kong is planning to build an autonomous transport system connecting the airport and Tung Chung.

In documents submitted to the District Council on Wednesday, the AAHK said the Airport City Link transport system will connect the Hong Kong Boundary Crossing Facilities artificial island and the SKYCITY integrated development project beside the airport.

The system’s construction will start in 2025 and is expected to be finished by 2025, according to the AAHK

The transport system, which will feature autonomous electric vehicles, will later be extended up to Tung Chung. The trip from SKYCITY to the artificial island will take two to three minutes and eight to ten minutes from the island to Tung Chung.

The system’s construction will start in 2025 and is expected to be finished by 2025, according to the AAHK.
