BRUSSELS - Hungarian Prime Minister Viktor Orban said on Thursday that he was in favor of a ceasefire between Russia and Ukraine and that communication channels between Hungary and Russia remain open to achieve peace.
Orban was speaking to reporters before attending a meeting of European Union leaders in Brussels.
"We have a very clear policy ... we have a peace strategy, and we want to do our best to achieve peace," Orban said, adding that "all our channels of communication with Russia remain open."

EU leaders met here on Thursday in a planned two-day meeting, focusing on the conflicts between Israel and Hamas and between Russia and Ukraine. The EU's long-term budget, the economy, migration and external relations are also on the agenda.
