BEIJING - Zhang Zhenlin's game-high 34 points helped the Liaoning Flying Leopards overturn the Qingdao Eagles 116-109 in the Chinese Basketball Association (CBA) league on Friday.
Qingdao sank seven 3-pointers to take a 29-28 lead in the first quarter, and broadened its advantage to nine points at halftime.
Liaoning made a 24-7 scoring dash early in the third quarter to turn the tide. Leading 87-80 into the final period, Liaoning held off Qingdao's comeback efforts.

With the win, Liaoning rises to second in the standings.
Also on Friday, CBA leaders the Xinjiang Flying Tigers held off the Fujian Sturgeons 97-87, extending their winning streak to five games and handing the latter their fourth straight loss.
Abdusalam Abdurexit led Xinjiang with 27 points. Wu Guanxi had a double-double of 19 points and 16 rebounds, while Travis Trice scored 18. For Fujian, five players scored double digits.

In other games, the Shandong Heroes overcame the Beijing Ducks 117-111, the Sichuan Blue Whales edged the Zhejiang Lions 107-105, the Nanjing Monkey Kings defeated the Shanghai Sharks 113-106, the Guangzhou Loong Lions got past the Shanxi Loongs 116-105, and the Guangdong Southern Tigers downed the Ningbo Rockets 88-76.
