BEIRUT - A Hezbollah fighter was killed, and three civilians were wounded on Friday in confrontations on the Lebanese-Israeli borders, Lebanese military sources reported.

Lebanese military sources, who spoke anonymously, told Xinhua that Israel carried out 14 air strikes on border areas and fired about 120 shells on 18 towns and villages in southern Lebanon, causing casualties.

Meanwhile, Hezbollah said its fighters attacked the headquarters of the third infantry brigade at the Ein Zeitim base with dozens of Katyusha rockets while also targeting the Meron Air Base with Falaq missiles, as well as the sites of Al-Malikiyah, Zibdin, al-Baghdadi, and the Doviv Barracks.

The Lebanon-Israel border witnessed increased tension since Oct 8, 2023, after Hezbollah fired dozens of rockets toward Israel in support of the Hamas attacks on Israel the previous day, prompting Israel to respond by firing heavy artillery toward southeastern Lebanon.
