Mixed results for China at badminton team championships

KUALA LUMPUR - China had mixed results on the third day of the 2024 Badminton Asia Team Championships on Thursday.

Men's doubles duo Ren Xiangyu and Xie Haonan easily outplayed India's Suraj Goala and Pruthvi Krishnamurthy Roy in a 31-minute game. Their teammates Chen Boyang and Liu Yi overcame India's M. R. Arjun and Dhruv Kapila 21-15, 19-21, 21-19.

In the men's singles, Wang Zhengxing defeated India's Chirag Sen 21-15, 21-16, but Weng Hongyang and Lei Lanxi failed to make the cut.

The tournament, a qualifying stage for the 2024 Thomas and Uber Cup, offers ranking points for the qualification of the 2024 Paris Olympic Games. It runs from February 13 to 18 at the Setia City Convention Center in Shah Alam, Selangor.
