Hong Kong Customs has seized 57.5 kilograms of suspected liquid cocaine with an estimated street value of about HK$57 million ($7.3 million), customs officers revealed on Friday.
Six suspects were arrested in this connection so far.
The suspected narcotics were found at the Kwai Chung Customhouse Cargo Examination Compound in a 40-foot seaborne container declared as carrying 617 cartons of chicken pate and 500 cartons of milk cream mix imported from Brazil, according to a statement of the Customs.

The construction worker and the four truck drivers were granted bail. However, the unemployed man is still being detained for further probe, according to a statement of the Hong Kong Customs
Upon follow up investigation, Customs officers on Feb 23 apprehended a 36-year-old male construction worker in Kam Tin. Three male truck drivers, aged between 46 and 60, were held three days later in Kwai Chung and Ngau Tau Kok.
The officers arrested a 48-year-old male truck driver and a reportedly unemployed 36-year-old man in Tuen Mun and Yau Ma Tei on Feb 27 and 29 respectively.
The construction worker and the four truck drivers were granted bail. However, the unemployed man is still being detained for further probe, according to the statement.

Customs officers said there could be more arrests in the future.
According to Hong Kong’s Dangerous Drug Ordinance, any person who traffics in a dangerous drug may face to a fine of up to HK$5 million and life imprisonment.
