HONG KONG - The big names in Hong Kong and Asia’s film industries descended on the Xiqu Centre in the city's West Kowloon Cultural District on Sunday night for the 17th Asian Film Awards.
Spotted on the red carpet were film royalty, including couple Tony Leung Chiu-wai and Carina Lau Kar-ling, Chinese master director Zhang Yimou, and superstar Fan Bingbing.
Thirty-five films from 24 countries and regions were shortlisted to compete for 16 awards at this year’s Asian Film Awards, which was presented by the Asian Film Awards Academy.
