Hong Kong to hold blockchain conference Consensus in 2025

HONG KONG - The Hong Kong Tourism Board (HKTB) said that Consensus, the world's longest-standing and most influential blockchain and Web3 event, has announced its staging in Hong Kong from Feb 19 to Feb 21 in 2025.

This is the first time in five years that the influential industry event has been held outside the United States. The event is expected to attract 8,000 participants, of which 6,000 will come from all over the world, the HKTB said in a press release on Sunday.

Kenneth Wong, a general manager of the HKTB, said, "We are excited that Consensus makes Hong Kong its first destination to expand its global footprint beyond North America," adding it is "a vote of confidence" that the leading conference on blockchain and Web3 picks Hong Kong as the city provides a fertile ground for businesses and industries.

King Leung, head of financial services and fintech of InvestHK, said the arrival of Consensus is a testament to Hong Kong's world-class aspiration and development in Hong Kong's Web3 sector, which continues to attract entrepreneurs, talent, and investment.

Consensus conferences have been held since 2015. Next year's conference in Hong Kong will bring together blockchain and Web3 ecosystem industry players to brainstorm and shape the digital vision, promoting exchange between participants from all over the world through well-curated activities.
