Authorities of the Qianhai Shenzhen-Hong Kong Modern Service Industry Cooperation Zone announced a global recruitment plan for high-end talents on Wednesday. It’s a groundbreaking move to further expand the participation of Hong Kong and Macao residents, as well as foreigners, in the governance of the Qianhai zone.
The move follows the National Development and Reform Commission’s release of the overall development plan for the Qianhai zone in December last year. The outline proposes to deepen the reform of management institutions in the cooperation zone, granting greater autonomy to the Qianhai Administration Bureau in recruiting personnel and creating positions.
Qualified individuals from the Hong Kong and Macao special administrative regions, as well as foreign countries, will be allowed to hold positions in the statutory authority in an effort to attract more high-level specialized talents.
