SINGAPORE - Singapore's leader of the opposition and chief of Workers' Party Pritam Singh on Tuesday pleaded not guilty to charges of lying to a parliament committee, according to a statement issued on his social media.

Singh noted that he was charged with two counts under the Parliament (Privileges, Immunities and Powers) Act for providing a "false answer" to the Committee of Privileges in December 2021.

Singh said he has claimed trial, adding he will continue to play the Parliamentary duties and Town Council responsibilities until the legal process comes to a complete close.
