MOSCOW - Admiral Alexander Moiseyev was appointed Acting Commander-in-Chief of the Russian Navy, Russia's TASS news agency reported on Tuesday.
Moiseyev was officially presented in his new position in Kronstadt, a port city near St Petersburg, it said.

Previously, the post of Commander-in-Chief of the Navy was held by Admiral Nikolai Evmenov. Admiral Moiseev led the Black Sea Fleet and served as Russia's Deputy Chief of the General Staff until 2019 and has since been the commander of the Northern Fleet.
