The Rugby Sevens tournament – one of Hong Kong’s most popular sporting events – kicked off on Friday at the Hong Kong Stadium for the 30th and final time.

The event will move to a new 50,000 seat venue being built in Kai Tak for its subsequent editions.

Spectators, many of them international visitors, started to stream into the stadium early. The organizers said 40 percent of all tickets were bought by visitors.
