Five dead after store fire in south China's Guangxi Zhuang autonomous region

Five people died in a fire that broke out in Cangwu county of Wuzhou city, Guangxi Zhuang autonomous region, on Monday, said the local emergency management bureau on Tuesday.

The fire occurred at 3 am Monday at a street-front shop in Lingjiao town. Based on the fire department's preliminary research, it was caused by an electrical line fault, according to a statement from the county's emergency management bureau.

Cangwu county initiated its emergency response plan and organized the fire department, public security, health and other departments to arrive at the scene and rescue those trapped.

Post-accident cleanup efforts are currently underway, the statement added.
