LONDON - World No 1 Ronnie O'Sullivan was knocked out of the Snooker World Championship as he lost to Stuart Bingham 13-10 on Wednesday.
The seven-time world champion reached the quarterfinals for a record-extending 22nd time after seeing off Ryan Day 13-7 in Sheffield on Monday. But his hope of winning the world championship title for a record-breaking eighth time was ended after a gruelling quarterfinal as the 2015 world champion Bingham took five out of the last six frames.
The Rocket will also lose the world No 1 ranking which he had held since April 2022 while Mark Allen will top the list for the first time.
