The 4th BEYOND International Science and Technology Innovation Expo, also known as BEYOND Expo 2024, will begin on May 22 in Macao.
Themed “Embracing the Uncertainties”, the four-day event will continue to develop three brands of the expo – BEYOND Healthcare, BEYOND ClimateTech and BEYOND ConsumerTech – to create more cooperation and exchanges for innovative enterprises and show the world the power of cutting-edge science and technology innovation and huge market potential.
Over 1,000 exhibitors are expected to attend the event, including those from the world's Fortune 500, large multinationals, unicorn innovators and startups.
Boosting the domestic cultural industry
The 20th China International Cultural Industries Fair will be held in Shenzhen from May 23 to 27, with an aim to create a more influential trade platform for cultural products and promote Chinese cultural products to the world.
This year's fair will have nearly 400 activities featuring three comprehensive exhibitions and six thematic exhibitions. It will deepen its cooperation with e-commerce giant Taobao, short-video sharing platform Douyin and other top digital platforms to provide value-added services for facilitate exhibitors' online transactions.
Top-class volleyball matches
Eight elite women’s volleyball teams – China, Brazil, Italy, Dominican Republic, Japan, The Netherlands, Thailand and France – will gather for a regional leg of the Women’s Volleyball Nations League 2024, from May 28 through Jun 2 at the Galaxy Arena in Macao.
Tickets has been on sale from May 6, with prices ranging between MOP 180 and MOP 1,380.
This year, the league will be held from May 14 to Jun 23, including three-week qualification matches in six cities including Macao. The finals will be hosted from June 20 to 23 in Bangkok, Thailand.
Dragon boat race in Zhuhai
The Huangyang River of Zhuhai will witness the Da Heng Qin Cup 2024 Guangdong Dragon Boat Open Race and Doumen Dragon Boat Invitational Tournament on May 25.
Total 42 team – 18 from Zhuhai and the Guangdong-Macao In-depth Cooperation Zone in Hengqin, and 24 from the rest cities of the Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area will join the half-day competition. Teams which holds top places from the three categories can respectively receive rewards ranging from 5,000 yuan ($691.9) to 20,000 yuan, a trophy, a roasted pig and a jar of liquor.
Coinciding with the race, a food carnival will hold a series of activities at the Doumen Gymnasium, providing various folk cuisines such as pipa ducks and peeler crabs.
