HONG KONG - Hong Kong swimming superstar Siobhan Haughey again made waves by snatching three gold medals in the first leg of the 2024 Mare Nostrum Swim Tour in Canet-en-Rousillon, France over the weekend.
Haughey came in first in the women’s 100m breaststroke competition on Saturday with a time of 1 minute, 7.01 seconds, ahead of Japan’s Reona Aoki, who clocked in at 1:07.09.

Hong Kong’s “flying fish” again ruled in the women’s 200m freestyle event with a time of 1:55.39. Lilla-Mina Abraham of Hungary came in second with 1:58.46.
Then on Sunday, Haughey clinched her third gold in the 100m freestyle race with a time of 52:55 seconds, beating Marrit Steenbergen of The Netherlands who finished with 53.55.
The Mare Nostrum Swim Tour is a nine-day, three-stop competition that brings together the best swimmers in the planet.

Its second stage will be held in Barcelona on Wednesday and Thursday before the series moves to Monaco for the final leg. Haughey will also compete in Barcelona and Monaco.
