The Customs authorities of Guangdong, Hong Kong and Macao on Wednesday launched the work to set up a platform to disseminate information about Customs regulations, announcements, clearance guidelines, enforcement cases, etc to members of the public through an internet site and a mobile application.

Commissioner of Customs and Excise of Hong Kong, Louise Ho Pui-shan; Director General of Guangdong Sub-Administration of the General Administration of Customs of the People's Republic of China (GACC), Li Kuiwen; and Director-General of the Macao Customs Service, Vong Man-chong, signed a Co-operative Arrangement on Smart Customs Development on the Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Customs Clearance Information Platform on Wednesday.

The information platform is one of the key initiatives under the cooperative arrangement between the GACC and Hong Kong Customs, the government said in a statement.

The platform will also provide a one-stop enquiry service, such as real-time customs clearance information, for passengers and the transportation industry to enhance the efficiency of cross-boundary flow of people and cargo in the Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area.

The Customs authorities of the three areas will continue to optimize the functions and expand the scope of services of the platform to promote the connectivity within the 11-city cluster, said the HKSAR government.
