Boat explosion: China Coast Guard rescues Philippine fishermen

BEIJING – A Philippine fishing boat encountered an emergency on Saturday near China's Huangyan Island in the South China Sea, resulting in injuries to two crew members. The China Coast Guard, patrolling in the area, stepped in to conduct a rescue operation.

The Philippine fishing vessel's engine malfunctioned, causing an explosion that damaged the hull and resulted in water intake.

This incident left two crew members injured.

The China Coast Guard vessel on patrol in the area promptly launched a rescue effort.

They provided life jackets and lifebuoys to the distressed Filipino fishermen, ensuring their safety.

Following the rescue, the China Coast Guard notified Philippine authorities of the incident.

The Philippine vessel expressed their appreciation for the timely humanitarian assistance via radio communication.
