HONG KONG – Chinese officials and business leaders staged a special promotion in the Hong Kong Special Administrative Region on Thursday to attract global investors to the digital and green economies on the Chinese mainland.
Organized by the Commercial Office of the Economic Affairs Department of the Liaison Office of the Central People’s Government in the HKSAR and the organizing committee of the China International Fair for Investment and Trade (CIFIT), the event aims to invite foreign consulates in Hong Kong, global chambers of commerce, multinational corporations, investment institutions, and other business organizations to the 24th edition of the CIFIT.

Set to kick off on Sept 8 in Xiamen, Fujian province, the four-day international fair will focus on the sustainable and digital sectors, providing a bilateral partnership platform for overseas investors and local entrepreneurs.
The Ministry of Commerce of the People’s Republic of China will host the annual event, centering on investing in China, China’s investments, multilateral and bilateral economic and trade exchanges, expanding financial investments, and promoting global cooperation.
“The fair will provide a direct conduit for investors to learn overseas investment environment, investment policies, and investment opportunities,” according to the CIFIT’s official website.
Featuring an exhibition area of 120,000 square meters, the 24th CIFIT will showcase the development achievements and investment environments of various Chinese provinces as well as overseas countries and regions.
It will also display technological innovations and advanced applications in fields such as artificial intelligence, information technology, new energy and materials, environmental protection, biomedicine, and supply chain management.

The fair will include a 26,000-square-meter matchmaking hall with an open main stage for project roadshows, business negotiations, cooperation agreements, and report releases.
The 23th CIFIT — focused on the global development initiative, introducing foreign direct investment and “going global” — attracted over 50,000 participants across various sectors from around the world.
