HONG KONG – Life insurance company BOC Life has partnered with four enterprises in Hong Kong to launch Assure2gether Alliance, a platform to provide elderly customers with a centralized way to access and utilize comprehensive services for retirement planning.
According to projections by the city’s Census and Statistics Department, the proportion of people aged 65 and above in Hong Kong is expected to exceed 21 percent this year.

At a press conference on Tuesday on launching of the platform, Wilson Tang Chee-ping, chief executive of BOC Life, said the alliance's goal is to assist senior residents to develop a more comprehensive retirement plan while alleviating the mounting pressure faced by both the elderly and their caregivers, as Hong Kong continues to grapple with the challenges of an aging population.
The alliance – initiated by BOC Life and joined by Health View Bioanalytic Limited, AWEsum Care, EC Healthcare and PURE Group – forms a collaborative ecosystem that offers a suite of health risk management services.

Customers, particularly those in the ‘young-old’ demographic aged between 65 and 74 can enjoy services such as health screenings, assessment for risk of serious diseases like stroke, and personalized physical wellness programs.
The network will also provide customers with a more accessible service to establish an Enduring Power of Attorney, the legal document that allows individuals to plan ahead by appointing attorneys to manage their financial affairs within their desired ambit in the event of incapacity.

Pointing out that elderly care is a broad topic, Tang said: “Providing comprehensive solutions to those in need is not what a single financial institution can do. That’s why we are grouping professionals from both financial and non-financial sectors, hoping to offer retirees an integrated choice for old-age care planning.”
