JERUSALEM - A Palestinian knifeman killed an elderly woman and a man and injured two others in central Israel on Sunday morning before being shot dead by police, Israeli authorities said.
According to a statement released by Israel's Magen David Adom rescue service, the assailant went out on a stabbing rampage during the morning rush hour in Holon, a suburb of Tel Aviv.
He first attacked a 26-year-old jogger who sustained minor injuries and then fatally wounded an elderly woman and a man in a park before proceeding to a gas station where he injured a 68-year-old man. Police said in a statement that an officer had neutralized the assailant at the scene.

The assailant was a resident of Salfit village in the Israeli-occupied West Bank and entered Israel without a permit.
