At the press conference, Yiu said that this will be the second time that Hong Kong has hosted this conference (the first time was in 2010), underscoring the successful implementation of the "one country, two systems" principle in Hong Kong and the city’s vital role in the nation's reunification.
The successful experience of developing the Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area also presents a promising picture for the integrated development of the mainland and Taiwan, he said.
Yiu said that Hong Kong’s hosting of this conference further underscores the resounding calls for peace, development, exchange, and cooperation among people of both the mainland and Taiwan.
