Cheers to Olympians

Athletes, coaches and other members set off from the Hong Kong Sports Institute in Sha Tin in two open-top double-deckers. They passed the Tai Wai MTR station and the Tsim Sha Tsui Clock Tower. The buses then reached the Central Star Ferry Pier and completed the journey at Tamar Park. They received the cheers and applause of the public along the route.
Upon their arrival at the park, the athletes participated in a sharing session with students on their Olympic experiences.
The city's athletes had achieved historic results at the Paris Olympics by capturing two gold medals and two bronze medals in four sports events. It was the first time that Hong Kong has won more than one gold medal at the same Olympic Games.
