Eleven people including five students were confirmed dead and 13 others injured after a bus ran into a crowd of students and parents outside a middle school in China's Shandong province on Tuesday morning, according to police in Dongping county.
At around 7:30 am on Tuesday, a shuttle bus lost control and careened off the road and into a group of students and parents outside a junior middle school in Dongping county in Tai'an, Shandong province, the county's public security bureau said in a statement.
Of the 11 victims, five are students and the rest parents.

Thirteen people were also injured. One of them is in critical condition while 12 have been reported to be stable.
Local authorities immediately initiated rescue operations and managed the scene.
The public security bureau has brought the driver involved in the incident under investigation, as they look into the cause of the crash.
