NEW YORK/UN - Chinese Foreign Minister Wang Yi said on Thursday that China is ready to work with Denmark to plan for the next stage of high-level exchanges and guide the development of bilateral relations.
Wang, also a member of the Political Bureau of the Communist Party of China Central Committee, made the remarks during talks with Danish Foreign Minister Lars Lokke Rasmussen on the sidelines of the UN General Assembly in New York.
He also noted that next year will mark the 75th anniversary of China-Denmark diplomatic ties.

China, Wang said, is committed to the path of green, low-carbon and sustainable development, and is willing to strengthen cooperation with Denmark and other European countries in green transformation.
For his part, Rasmussen said Denmark adheres to the one-China policy.
He also said that his country, whose development has benefited from free trade, will continue to stick to free trade and promote economic globalization, adding he hopes that the EU and China can find a proper way to handle trade frictions.
'Maintain momentum of ties'
Wang also met his Costa Rican counterpart, Arnoldo Andre Tinoco, on Thursday.
The minister said China is willing to work with Costa Rica to maintain the momentum of development of bilateral relations. He also said the fruitful cooperation between the two countries should be cherished, which fully demonstrates that the development of bilateral ties conforms to the common interests of both sides and the trend of the times.

For his part, Andre said Costa Rica will undoubtedly continue to firmly abide by the one-China principle and maintain the political foundation of bilateral relations, adding that his country welcomes more Chinese investment in Costa Rica.
Uphold core of friendship
When meeting with Polish Foreign Minister Radoslaw Sikorski, Wang said China attaches great importance to China-Poland relations, and is ready to work with Poland to uphold the core of China-Poland friendship based on mutual respect, equality, mutually beneficial cooperation, and mutual learning.
Expressing hope that Poland will provide a fair and non-discriminatory business environment for Chinese enterprises, Wang urged both sides to promote the healthy and stable development of China-Europe relations.
Sikorski said that Poland adheres to the one-China policy and is committed to developing constructive bilateral relations with China.

Poland is willing to provide a favorable business environment for Chinese enterprises, Sikorski said, noting that keeping trade between Europe and China open serves the interests of both sides.
Friendly cooperation 'the main theme'
The Chinese foreign minister also met with Estonian Foreign Minister Margus Tsahkna on the sidelines of the UNGA.
Estonia is an important cooperation partner for China in the Baltic region. Friendly cooperation is the main theme of bilateral relations, which aligns with the shared expectations of both peoples and represents the direction that both sides should continue to pursue, said Wang.
While China and Estonia have different histories, cultures and environments, and face different challenges, this does not hinder the two countries from strengthening mutually beneficial cooperation to serve the well-being of their people, Wang said, adding it also does not affect their joint efforts to safeguard international peace and security based on respect for the purposes and principles of the UN Charter.

China is willing to continuously enhance mutual trust with Estonia, continue to respect each other's legitimate concerns on core interests, and lay a solid political foundation and inject vitality in improving bilateral relations, said Wang.
Estonia, as an important member of the European Union, is expected to promote the EU institutions' adherence to free trade, resolve differences through dialogue and consultation, and promote the healthy and stable development of China-EU relations, he said.
Tsahkna said Estonia has a long history of exchanges with China and has maintained pragmatic cooperation, clearly upholding the One-China policy. Estonia appreciates China's emphasis on respecting the purposes and principles of the United Nations Charter.
For a small country like Estonia, international law and international order are as important as nuclear weapons. Estonia pays close attention to the Ukraine crisis, values China's position, and hopes that China will play a constructive role, said Tsahkna.
Wang pointed out that China is not a party to the Ukraine crisis, but has always been committed to peace, actively mediating and promoting negotiations to facilitate a political resolution. China's diplomacy is guided by the principles of upholding justice, maintaining fairness, and pursuing peace. For all hotspot issues, China advocates seeking political solutions through dialogue and consultation.

The immediate priority in the Ukraine crisis is to de-escalate the situation and prevent the conflict from further expanding, which aligns with the interests of European countries. China will faithfully fulfill its responsibilities as a permanent member of the UN Security Council and continue to contribute to peace, said Wang.
'Work through dialogue'
China and the Netherlands should continue to work through dialogue to properly address differences so as to avoid impacts on mutual trust and beneficial cooperation, said Wang when he met with his Dutch counterpart Caspar Veldkamp.
China and the Netherlands have always been cooperative partners, Wang said, expressing hope for the Dutch side to uphold the spirit of contract and maintain a fair and free trade environment.

Veldkamp said that the Netherlands attaches great importance to its relations with China.
The Netherlands will stick to the one-China principle and will continue to strengthen mutually beneficial cooperation with China in a practical manner, so as to push for new development of bilateral relations, he noted.
The country is also willing to make efforts for the stability of EU-China relations, he added.
'Continue to support Cyprus'
China will continue to support Cyprus in safeguarding its national sovereignty and territorial integrity, the Chinese foreign minister said.
Wang made the remarks during talks with Cypriot President Nikos Christodoulides.

China and Cyprus should work together to uphold the international system with the United Nations at its core, closely coordinate and cooperate on multilateral occasions, and safeguard multilateralism and international fairness and justice, Wang said.
Christodoulides said that Cyprus is committed to deepening cooperation with China and firmly upholds the one-China principle.
'Welcomes more Romanian products'
Wang also held talks with Romanian Foreign Minister Luminita Odobescu in New York, saying that China adheres to a high-level opening up and welcomes more high-quality Romanian products to enter the Chinese market.
China hopes that Romania will uphold the principles of free trade and provide a fair, non-discriminatory business environment for Chinese enterprises, Wang said.
Odobescu said Romania is committed to promoting cooperation, strengthening economic and trade ties with China and hopes to increase agricultural exports to the Asian country.
Romania stands ready to facilitate dialogue between Europe and China to properly address trade disputes, she added.
Building closer China-Nepal community
China has always placed Nepal in an important position in its neighboring diplomacy, and is committed to building a closer China-Nepal community with a shared future, Wang Yi said.
Wang made the remarks at a meeting with Nepalese Prime Minister KP Sharma Oli. Wang said China will continue to support Nepal in safeguarding its sovereignty, independence, and territorial integrity, and hopes Nepal will find a successful development path that suits its national conditions.

China's decision to grant zero-tariff treatment to 100 percent of tariff items of products from all the least developed countries having diplomatic relations with China will facilitate more Nepalese specialty products to enter China, Wang added.
Oli said Nepal firmly adheres to the one-China policy, and is committed to enhancing cooperation with China.
Brazil 'a mature strategic partner'
Wang also met with Celso Amorim, special advisor to the President of Brazil, on the sidelines of the UNGA. He said this year marks the 50th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic ties between China and Brazil, underscoring that the two countries have already been mature strategic partners.
Wang emphasized that China is ready to give full support to Brazil in hosting a successful G20 summit.

The minister said China and Brazil, together with other like-minded "Global South" countries, will soon establish a "Friends of Peace" platform on the Ukraine crisis, which is an effort made by China, Brazil and "Global South" countries to strive for peace.
For his part, Amorim said Brazil is willing to work with China to make plans for high-level exchanges and deepen cooperation in various fields.
