ENTEBBE, Uganda - Host Uganda drew with Hong Kong, China at the International Cricket Council (ICC) Cricket World Cup Challenge B tournament on Sunday.

The match was interrupted by heavy rain before the ICC announced it a draw.

Uganda batted first at the Lugogo Cricket Oval in Kampala, posting 291/9 in 50 overs. When Hong Kong, China began batting, they managed to reach 72/3 in 15.3 overs before the rain stopped play. The draw means both teams pick up one point each.

In the other match, Bahrain secured its first in the event, defeating Singapore by two wickets in a match played at the Entebbe Cricket Oval.

Singapore batted first, putting up 145 runs in 47.4 overs, while Bahrain chased successfully to record 146/8 in 41.4 overs to win by two wickets. Rohan Rangarajan and Amartya Kaul scored 33 and 24 runs, respectively, for Singapore.

Bahrain's captain Haider Butt led from the front, scoring 51 runs, while Sohail Ahmed added 21 runs.

Uganda leads the table with five points from three matches, while Italy ranks second with four points after two straight wins, with Hong Kong, China in third place with three points.

Action continues on Tuesday when Italy faces Bahrain, while bottom-placed Tanzania takes on Hong Kong, China at the Entebbe Cricket Oval.

The Challenge League B tournament, which will conclude on Nov 16, is a critical pathway to the 2027 ICC Cricket World Cup.
