Hong Kong travel fans and practitioners gathered at the Kowloon Shangri-La hotel in Tsim Sha Tsui East to explore opportunities and seek business partners from the Russian capital at the Moscow City Roadshow.
The roadshow was attended by 18 companies from Moscow, including tour operators and hotel representatives. Additionally, 103 Chinese companies took part.
The Hong Kong roadshow is the last in a series of events that the Moscow City Tourism Committee has held in several Chinese cities, including Chengdu in Sichuan province, Harbin in Heilongjiang province and Chongqing.

In the first half of 2024, the number of Chinese tourists to Moscow increased by approximately 190,000, a 2.4-fold rise compared to the first half of 2023.
“We came to Hong Kong to provide more information about our hotel in Moscow to local citizens,” said Ivan Grozdev, revenue and reservation manager of Pentahotel Moscow. “Since there are more than three direct flights per week from Hong Kong. So we think there is a great business potential in Hong Kong.”
Hong Kong and Moscow have adopted unilateral 14-day visa-free policies, “It is very nice for communication,” said Anna Sokolova, line producer of Media Group Red Square.

“Many Hong Kong citizens are quite interested to know more about Russia. With direct flights, the travelling time between Russia and HK is much shorter than to some cities in Europe,” said Wong Kai-chung, manager of Fly Win Travel. “But it is still very far and not so convenient.”
Wong said he also wanted to explore the potential of more Russian tourists to come to Hong Kong, to expand their interest in Hong Kong, especially its unique culture.
