Shipyard in Hong Kong's Aberdeen catches fire

HONG KONG – A fire broke out at a shipyard on Shum Wan Road in Aberdeen on southwest Hong Kong Island on Friday afternoon.

The fire, which originated at 4:11 pm, was upgraded to No. 3 alarm at 4:45 pm, according to a government notification.

Firemen were using two fire boat monitors, four jets and mobilising four breathing apparatus teams to fight the blaze at 8:00 pm when this report was filed.

No casualties have been reported so far.
