Hong Kong’s minimum temperature dropped to 16 degrees Celsius on Sunday morning, the lowest so far this winter, according to the Hong Kong Observatory.
The HKO said that a fresh to strong northeast monsoon will affect the coast of Guangdong on Sunday and Monday, with cool mornings and mainly fine weather expected over the region.
“A fresh to strong northeast monsoon is bringing cool weather to the coast of Guangdong. Locally, the minimum temperature recorded at the observatory this morning was 16.0 degrees, the lowest so far this winter,” the HKO said.

As of 11:25 am Sunday, the city's average temperature was 19.9 C. The mercury dropped to as low as 13.7 C around 7 am in Ta Kwu Ling in the New Territories.
The observatory said it will still be cool and windier tomorrow morning, with temperatures expected to rise slightly to 17 C to 21 C.

In will also be cloudier in the next few days and temperatures are forecast to fall progressively starting Thursday due to the influence of another surge of the northeast monsoon, the HKO added.
