Parts of Hong Kong will see temperatures drop below 10 degrees Celsius on Sunday due to the persistent influence of the northeast monsoon, according to the Hong Kong Observatory.

The minimum temperature in Ta Kwu Ling in the New Territories is expected to dip to 8°C while Tai Po could see 9°C on Sunday morning, according to the HKO website.

“Under the persistent influence of the northeast monsoon and its replenishment, temperatures over the coast of southern China will fall progressively in the next few days,” the HKO said in an advisory on Wednesday.

The HKO said temperatures will rise again to 14°C-19°C on Monday as the monsoon is expected to moderate slightly.
