Temperatures in Hong Kong dropped to 13 degrees Celsius on Sunday morning, the lowest this winter, amid the strong northeast monsoon, the Hong Kong Observatory said.
The HKO said the minimum temperature at its office in Tsim Sha Tsui reached 13C as the weather over the city remained mainly cloudy.
“A strong northeast monsoon is affecting the coast of Guangdong. Locally, the weather was rather cool in the urban areas this morning,” the Observatory said.

“The minimum temperature recorded at the Observatory was 13.0 degrees, the lowest so far this winter, and temperatures were a couple of degrees lower in the New Territories.”
In Tai Po in the New Territories, the mercury dropped to 9.4C from 5 am to 7 am while Ta Kwu Ling also felt the chill with temperatures dipping to 10.9C.
The observatory said it will be very dry with sunny intervals during the day in Hong Kong on Sunday. Daytime temperatures are expected rise this coming week, but it will remain cool in the morning.

Temperatures will range from 14C to 19C on Monday to 16C to 21C from Tuesday until Thursday, the observatory added.
