Aussie police arrest 4 Greek nationals over methamphetamine import

SYDNEY - Australian police have arrested and charged four Greek nationals over the importation of methamphetamine into Sydney.

The Australian Federal Police (AFP) said that the four men, aged 30, 41, 43 and 45, have been charged following an investigation into an organized crime syndicate suspected of importing illicit drugs into Australia from the United Kingdom.

The AFP will allege in court that the syndicate imported over 30 kilograms of methamphetamine with an estimated street value of 34 million Australian dollars ($21.2 million) into Sydney.

The AFP and Australian Border Force seized more than 33.7 tons of illicit drugs and precursors in the 12 months to the end of June 2024, including 11 tons of methamphetamine.
