HONG KONG – Ready to bid a dazzling farewell to 2024? Hong Kong’s iconic New Year countdown firework musical on Dec 31 should then top your consideration list.

The 12-minute display over Victoria Harbour will showcase breathtaking fireworks effects inspired by the beauty of nature, showering wishes for prosperity and happiness in the year ahead.

It will feature four grabbing effects, including one first-ever featured, promising an unforgettable visual feast leveled further up by captivating melodies.

The MTR trains will also run overnight on Dec 31 to help those commute who intend to enjoy the festivity soup-to-nuts.

Olympic spirit

Fitspiration is spreading across the border between Zhuhai and Macao with an open badminton championship featuring badminton aces from the two places set to take place on Saturday and Sunday in Zhuhai.

Part of a serial celebration to mark the nation’s glory in the 2024 Paris Olympic Games, the event will not only gather the top-tier athletes from the two cities but will also be joined by three beloved Paris Olympic gold medalists – Chen Qingchen, Jia Yifan, and Huang Yaqiong.

In addition to a bus tour in Zhuhai, the medalists will also talk with the championship’s participants and visit a community sports park.
