An elderly man was killed while two foreigners were injured after a car mounted the pavement they were walking on in Yau Ma Tei district in Hong Kong on Monday morning, police said.
The 68-year-old local man was declared dead at the Queen Elizabeth Hospital while the two foreigners—a man and a woman both aged 25—had head and leg injuries.
The incident happened at around 10:07 am on the westbound lane of Jordan Road just near Luen Tak Building, police said.

The private car was approaching the intersection of Jordan Road and Shanghai Street when its 42-year-old male driver apparently lost control and his car mounted the pavement and knocked down the pedestrians.
The elderly man, who had multiple injuries, was brought to Queen Elizabeth unconscious and was pronounced dead at 11:07 am.

The driver reported feeling unwell and was sent to Kwong Wah Hospital in conscious state. He was arrested for dangerous driving causing death and is being detained for inquiries, police added.
