KYIV - Russia launched missile strikes on Ukraine early Tuesday, targeting the capital Kyiv and the northeastern Sumy region, local authorities said.
Several infrastructure facilities in the city of Shostka in the Sumy region were destroyed, Mayor Mykola Noha wrote on Facebook.
The attack also damaged 12 apartment buildings, two educational institutions, a dormitory and a clinic in Shostka, Noha said.

In Kyiv, debris from intercepted missiles damaged three private buildings and two vehicles, according to the Kyiv City Military Administration.
There were no immediate reports of casualties from the strikes.
