Hong Kong's foreign currency reserves down in December

Hong Kong's foreign currency reserve assets shrank to $421.4 billion in December from $425.1 billion in November, the Hong Kong Monetary Authority said on Tuesday.

According to the HKMA, there were no unsettled foreign exchange contracts at the end of December and November.

The reserve assets represent over five times the currency in circulation, the HKMA added.
