BEIJING - Chinese stocks closed lower on Friday, with the benchmark Shanghai Composite Index down 1.33 percent to 3,168.52 points.
The Shenzhen Component Index closed 1.8 percent lower at 9,795.94 points.
The combined turnover covered by these two indices stood at 1.15 trillion yuan (about $160 billion) -- up from 1.11 trillion yuan on the previous trading day.
Stocks in the humanoid robot sector were among the biggest gainers, while those related to e-commerce and home appliances suffered major losses.
The ChiNext Index, tracking China's Nasdaq-style board of growth enterprises, lost 1.76 percent to close at 1,975.3 points.
