BEIJING - Chinese stocks closed mixed on Wednesday, with the benchmark Shanghai Composite Index down 0.65 percent to 3,229.49 points.
The Shenzhen Component Index closed 0.08 percent higher at 10,164.22 points.
The combined turnover covered by these two indices stood at nearly 1.29 trillion yuan (about $180 billion) - up from 1.12 trillion yuan on the previous trading day.
Stocks related to artificial intelligence, robotics and semiconductor led the gains, while airport and insurance sectors suffered significant declines.
The ChiNext Index, tracking China's Nasdaq-style board of growth enterprises, lost 0.04 percent to close at 2,062.92 points Wednesday.
